Inspired by Shakespeare’s Stratford-on-Avon, a town close to where I live, this is the first of two different examples of Elizabethan/Tudor style with the classic half-timbered frame method. The second design is made to the same scale and size, so the two artworks could potentially be displayed as a pair if desired. They both display the same half-timbered construction on the upper floors, but they are very different in appearance otherwise. The wood is very worn with age but still strong and serviceable. Each visible crack is a reminder of times long past, nostalgic, heavily fissured, yet still with us to marvel at and enjoy.
