Inspired by an old farm building, the stone that frames the window aperture has an interesting appeal with the two smaller stone framing pieces left longer. Perhaps giving some extra strength, or possibly because they were simply being re-used from another unwanted structure. Whatever the reason they do give an unusual and attractive visual aspect. The characterful shabby old wooden shutter, an often overlooked feature on old buildings, is twisted with age but still doing its job, providing security and shade.
