Shuttered Window Detail #2

This is a rustic double shutter that comes from a Greek island building I discovered some time ago. I really like the fact that the mortar infill has crumbled away, therefore leaving these deep grooved reveals exposing more of the satisfyingly shaped stones to give a fantastic textural quality. The wooden shutters are beautifully worn away by time and weather to present a gently decaying atmosphere that gives great visual charm and appeal.
