A detail I captured from an abandoned building in Crete. I wanted to look inside and explore a little, but couldn’t find any safe way to do so. The dusty old render had obviously been falling away from the walls for years which helped to give it a beautifully weathered quality. The original use could well have been a hay loft, or something similar, as it was at first floor height above a very dilapidated and crumbling doorway standing on the rocky ground below. The rusty old hinges were still doing a good job of keeping the wooden shutter strips together, although the faded and peeling paint not doing much in the way of protecting the shutter itself, which was beginning to show signs of dilapidation.
