I chose a landscape orientated design for this artwork, partly because it was a low building, and because the little blocked in window seemed essential to add in order to compliment and enhance the composition. Everything about it seems timeless in some way, but also really aged with its earth tones and textures. Also, the unusual long shaped stones framing the entrance and scattered into the walls fascinated me for their construction technique and strongly sculptural quality. The rickety old door has clearly been patched up on both sides at different times over the years and presumably seen a lot of service in its lifetime.
