A charming, if slightly shabby addition to this series. I find the dressed, yet heavily crumbling stones that frame both the window and the door are so harmonious within the original design. Above a timber lintel are several rows of sandy terracotta bricks that I imagine were possibly a later addition, maybe some glazing would have originally graced the aperture with its heavy stone sill below. As you look at the doorframe, two solitary stones stick out further than the others, which seems strange but somehow in keeping with its style. The old much used doorway, although pretty battered and worn, and definitely lacking maintenance, is still clearly serviceable despite its long life.
